Speaker - Steve Harmer

With an MA in Garden History Stephen is the Head Gardener at Tonbridge School. He offers has a range of talks about gardens, from ancient Egyptian garden design to the post-modernist garden.  His favourite, and the subject of his talk this evening, is the History of the Arts and Crafts garden, some of the principles of which he has incorporated into his gardening at Tonbridge.  Stephen will discuss how the Arts and Crafts garden movement came about, will introduce us to some of the people who influenced it and, tell us about what caused its sudden demise.
