Fergus Garrett

Guest speaker, Fergus Garrett, Head Gardener at Great Dixter Garden in East Sussex and CEO of the Great Dixter Charitable Trust.

Fergus has been described as one of the most influential garden designers and horticultural educators in Britain today.

Fergus developed a friendship with Christopher Lloyd, the owner of Great Dixter, after an initial visit in 1988.

After gaining experience with Beth Chatto, the English Gardening School and private gardens he joined the Great Dixter team in 1988, becoming head gardener in 1993.

Fergus’s contributions to horticulture have been recognised by a number of awards from the RHS.

 Additionally, he is a patron of the Beth Chatto Education Charity, President of the Northiam Horticultural Charity.
